When you think of peace, comfort, and security what comes to mind first? What do you picture? How does that image make you feel? Is it a person? Is it a place? Is it an object? Is it a dream? Is it something that you hope to someday achieve?
Peace, comfort, and security can be home, family or a specific family member. It can be a special place you go, like the beach or the mountains. Often we tend to imagine if we had a certain type of family, a certain type of home or the ability to live at the beach or the mountains that we would find peace, comfort, and security. What about money? We can work-put all of our efforts into earning a certain amount of money, for then we obtain peace, comfort, and security. It's all so elusive.
No matter what we physically try to do to obtain them we never quite arrive! It always seems to never be enough- not good enough-filled with flaws.
During the mandated quarantine for Covid-19, following a few rules: wash your hands for 20 seconds, stay away from crowds of people, and especially don't be in contact with someone that is sick. Isolate yourself to be safe. Do you feel safe and secure? Or do you feel something is missing? Philippians 4:6-7
Proverbs 3:5-6 says to trust the Lord, don't trust yourself, and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. If you need comfort, God will help you find comfort if you ask Him. If you need peace, He will fill you with His perfect peace if you ask Him. If you need security, again all you need to do is ask Him! He's only a prayer away.
Psalms 23 is a song of peace, comfort, and security. You will find everything you need in the one who supplies it.
Finally, Psalms 91 is a Psalm of declaration. The writer declares facts he has learned first-hand about God. He shares all of the ways he found he can rely fully on God The writer shares first-hand how the reader can also find what he found to be true of God.
During this turbulent, insecure times, your world has very likely been turned upside-down. It can be restored right-side up again if you will dig in, read these passages and learn from them. Let God speak to you! He has lots to say. Now is a great time to listen! You have plenty of TIME now, to take time for Him! He can and will transform your life if you would give Him a chance. I am praying for you!
